Nutrients that help to reduce hair loss

It is important to act as soon as possible when we realize that we suffer from hair loss due to stress, a seasonal change, or if we think we may be an alopecia victim.

Besides the large all-type amount of products for reducing hair loss, there are other ways to take care of our hair follicles´ health, through the addition of all needed substances to strengthen our hair in order to stop or reduce hair loss.

One of the most simple, healthy and economic ways is to add to our diet some high-nutritional foods that might help grown and healthy follicles.  Let´s see where we can find them.

Foods that increase hair strength

Kiwi: This fruit has one of the highest Vitamin C concentration, which is key to healthy hair because it helps to collagen production.  Collagen is a present substance in every single follicle and is necessary to keep them alive.

Hazelnuts: This nut has one of the highest biotin contents, an amazing 76 micrograms per 100 g, a fact that makes it essential to add hazelnuts to our daily diet if we want grown follicles.

Besides, vitamin H or B8 on hazelnuts also helps lipids´ metabolic use, increasing our hair´s elasticity and blood circulation on our scalps, a need to stop hair loss.

Salmon: This omega-3 and fatty acids source are essential for hair hydration and a healthy scalp since our body does not produce them. That´s why it is recommended that patients with severe hair loss eat it, at least, twice a week.

Cockles: This food has one of the highest contents of iron, an imperative element that moves oxygen toward cells, which makes necessary its presence in the human body.  It helps irrigation to scalp and follicles, that is why it is so important to add it to our diet.  Besides, when combined with lemon, its assimilation is easier.

Sunflower oil: Despite olive oil is a wonder, sunflower oil is as good, especially for hair loss.  Thanks to its high vitamin-E concentration, it helps to repair damaged hair.  Also, it is needed to create keratin inside the follicle to strengthen it.

Legumes: All legumes help to improve our hair´s health. The presence of folic acid and zing in all of them helps to bring oxygen to our hair and especially weak follicles.

Oysters: This food has the highest content of zinc per gram.  This element is basic for healthy and strong hair, as we previously mentioned.
